Here are the fabrics I have for the first baby quilt. The baby is due in March, and I don't know if it's a girl or a boy. I think they are going to find out, if possible. Anyway, I'll be using a pattern from the book Time To Quilt. The pattern name is Neighbor's Fence (the one you see on the cover). I'll be doing a smaller version, making it about 50x60 inches. I always like making baby quilts a little on the large side, so they can be used as lap quilts or for covering up slumbering toddlers that fall asleep under the dining room table.
I don't know where I got the idea to make the quilt in greens. I get these notions in my head, and just go with them at times. I picked up the fat quarters at two local fabric shops, The Cutting Table and Bigsby's. Some of them are unusual prints, so the finished quilt should look pretty cool. The orange FQ will be for the stars. I haven't picked up a b/w stripe yet (I'm thinking a zebra stripe will be really cool), or my borders. Hopefully this will go together quickly. I think it will, as I basically cut a bunch of rectangles, either piecing 2 or 3 in a block, then stitch the blocks together. I'll post progress as I go.
